UX Case Study: Energy Conservation Maze Game

Prometheus: Home Energy Game
Project Overview

In a world inspired by dystopian tales, imagine an app that turns saving energy into an exciting game. You earn points by doing simple eco-friendly tasks at home, and those points light up your path in a multiplayer maze game. Compete with others and see your name climb the leaderboard, all while learning about energy conservation in a fun, interactive way.

Problem Statement

Batteries are everywhere, but when tossed improperly, they harm the environment. From leaking chemicals to causing toxic fires, the effects are severe. This app addresses these issues by combining education with entertainment, showing users how they can make a difference.

Goals and Objectives

Our mission is simple:

  1. Teach users the importance of saving energy and recycling batteries.

  2. Make it fun through an engaging game.

  3. Inspire lasting change, one flashlight-powered maze at a time.

Features and Functionality
  1. Challenges That Matter: Earn points by turning off unused lights, recycling batteries, or switching to energy-efficient appliances.

  2. The Maze Game: Use your points to "power" your flashlight as you navigate a dark maze, racing against time and others.

  3. Community Connection: Sync with apps like JouleBug for bonus points and join events that bring people together to save energy.

User Journey

Step into the story:

  1. The Beginning: Download the app, learn the ropes, and set personal energy goals.

  2. The Daily Adventure: Tackle small tasks to earn points—every little action counts.

  3. The Challenge: Use your flashlight points to conquer the maze, outsmarting competitors while conserving energy.

  4. The Legacy: Track your savings, unlock achievements, and join seasonal events to keep the excitement alive.
